Änderungen nach Baujahr und Sonderausstattung

Hallo Allerseits, vor kurzem habe ich mir eine 2 Türer Limo von 37 in unrestaurierten original Zustand gekauft. Meiner Meinung nach wurden lediglich die Rückleuchten und hässlichen Blinker nachgerüstet. Er verfügt über ein Kofferset und ein Rollo für die Heckscheibe. In diesem Zusammenhang interessiert es mich, was es alles für Sonderausstattungen gab.

Leider finde ich keine Liste über ab Werk bestellbare Sonderausstattung.

Sowie welches Jahr was geändert wurde.
Ich fände es schön wenn wir hier sowas zusammen tragen könnten. z.B. HBZ rund/eckig , ab wann Eierleuchten, wann innen-/außenliegende Winker, Kennzeichen Beleuchtung, lackierte Radkappe Serie?, Reserverad Abdeckung Serie? Kühlerverschluss, Wasserpumpe…..

Hello Chris, You ask an excellent question. A question of much detail and study and discussion of the parts books from the period. First you must think of the cars not from year to year ( which is not totally incorect) but between RB numbers. The RB numbers are the block of numbers in which a car was produce and align roughly with a calender year. I believe the production year before the war was April to April of perhaps September to Sepetember. I will be corrected here! The parts books are aligned in Editions A- H (Ausgabe ) that start in 1936 the transition into the war years where things get abit funny so to speak with military modfications and limted production. A entire different topic. Im y case i have a 1937 vehicle . But the parts book edition B and C touch calender year 1937. Here again withe RB number of you car you can zero in on the exact configuration of your car by carefully reading the part numbers of the items you have described. But if the car is in a transition period do not bet your last penny as likely parts were used up before transitioning to the later version. Now the next question. Where was the car delivered. Different countries had different rules for lighting and bumper requirements. This has to be considered. Also there were numerious after marked additions that could be applied to a vehicle. Some of these can be found in part supplier catalogs from the period. Just my thoughts from an American guy who has studied this topic a bit. There are guys on the forum that have forgotten more about these cars than I will ever know. This is an excellent knowledge base. other factors. Do not forget the impact the war had on the maintence of orginal car configuration. Parts wee applied as spares to keep the cars running on the road. The 50 years after the war, if a car was in Eastern Europe there again every effort was made to keep the car running. This could include three pistons of one size and the fourth of another. There is also a record of the parts and the correct replacement parts according to Merceds Benz. A simple example; The old style master cylinder, is correctly replaced by the new style master cylinder. It is a correct replacement for the pre war cars. Engines if a 170V engine was replaced by Mercedes Benz in 1955 you would get a more modern engine than a true 1937 engine and it would be a correct replacement.
