Hello MB 170 friends
Sorry, unfortunately; I don't speak German
On my beloved 170S W136; I have to install a new rear window
I have the following problem
_ if I install the rear window from the INTERIOR of the car ; I have no place enough to install the wood surrounding the rear window
_Could somebody confirm me that the rear window must be installed from the OUTSIDE of the car, in order to allow the installation of the wood panel

Sorry, but i dont understand the Problem quit enough.
I - for example - have replaced the rear Window seal for myself on my early 170 s - without the Chrom Trim - also from the inside. And ist was no Probelm to install the Wood trim either.
Please point it out for me, if you wish.

_once installed with its seal; is the rear window glass INSIDE or OUTSIDE the body of the car?

Uh, thats a surprisingly tough Question. I can´t remember.
Of course i have not one single Picture from the day when i install the rear Window, so i just went outside to have a look at it. But in the Dark with my little torch it was not so successful.
First impression is: the Glas is from the inside. But i have to make a closer look tomorow at Daylight to be sure.

So, im quit sure now, that the glas is mountet from the inside.

Note:
In my case i must put on some extra sealant on it, becaus the aftermarket Rubberseals are sometimes not so good in shape.
